Kentucky is a secondary hiring area, and the freight is already there: 3.4% of our pickups and deliveries this year touched Kentucky, across 68 refrigerated lanes that start or end in Wilder, Louisville, Owensboro, and Shepherdsville. More of that freight starts in Kentucky than ends here, so a lot of trips begin close to home. Those loads connect to 18 other states on our board. The busiest of those lanes runs from Wilder, KY to Saint Louis, MO.
Northern Kentucky is a pickup state for us. Wilder, across the river from Cincinnati, is one of the busiest pickup points on our board, with regular runs to Saint Louis, Moberly, Olathe, and Harrisonville, and Burlington and Erlanger sit in the same corner. Louisville and Shepherdsville add freight on I-65, and the occasional delivery reaches London in the southeast. A Kentucky driver starts a lot of weeks with a loaded trailer close to home.
